Last month, Samsung unveiled its cheapest 5G phone, the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G. Today, the company has quietly launched the 4G variant of the smartphone in Europe. As far as the differences between both models are concerned, they go beyond network support. The 4G model comes with a new buttoned-down chipset, a new screen, an improved main camera, and a better selfie shooter.
Design-wise, the Samsung Galaxy A32 4G is identical to its 5G sibling. The handset comes with a similar camera alignment and a similar matte finish rear.
It comes with a 6.4-inch S-AMOLED display with an Infinity-U notch design, 90Hz refresh rate, and 1080p resolution. It is the first A-series smartphone from the brand to feature a 90Hz display. The fingerprint sensor is mounted inside the display and the whole ensemble is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
Instead of the Dimensity 720 that powered the Samsung A32 5G, the said model features the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC and is available in two memory variants, 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM with 128 GB storage. The phone runs the One UI 3.1 out of the box, which is based on Android 11.
At the back, the smartphone features a quad-sensor camera system that is similar to the 5G variant except for the main sensor that has been swapped with a 64 MP camera. The other three sensors remain the same, i.e., an 8 MP ultrawide lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 2 MP macro cam. For selfies, there is a 20 MP sensor tucked in the waterdrop notch.
The handset packs a 5000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging capabilities through the USB-C port.
It will be available for sale in Russia initially, with the base variant costing $268.
