The awareness campaign will be run for a couple of months in which people from all levels of society will be informed about the harmful effects of using polythene bags.
Plastic bags will be completely banned in the province from 1st October.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Imran Khan had ordered a complete ban on manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing of the plastic bags.
Biodegradable bags will be replacing regular polythene bags in Islamabad.
