HMD’s most powerful smartphone yet, the Nokia 9 PureView, is getting an upgrade this year. The original Nokia 9 did make the headlines for its weird-looking 5-camera setup on the back, but reviewers didn’t like it much.

Reports from NokiaPowerUser reveal that we might see a Nokia 9.1 in the last quarter of 2019. The report says, Nokia 9.1 PureView was scheduled for the third quarter but due to some manufacturing issues, the release had to be pushed forward.

The company is still working with Light and has claimed that the smartphone will get a huge camera upgrade. If the rumors are true, we will see better videography and low-light photography in the upcoming flagship. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 855 with 5G support and will have better camera processing algorithms, developed in collaboration with Light.

The report further discloses that the smartphone will borrow the punch hole camera from Nokia X71. The phone will run on Android Q out of the box.

Rumors are, the company is thoroughly testing and rechecking all the specifications and features of the smartphone to prevent getting any negative feedback as was the case with Nokia 9 PureView.
