Vivo has quietly released the iQOO U3x in China, which is joining the ranks of the cheapest smartphones with a high refresh rate display. The U3x 5G will retail for only $184 with a 90Hz display, a 5,000 mAh battery, 5G, and more.
The phone has a tall 6.58-inch LCD with an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a pixel density of 401 ppi, an aspect ratio of 20.07:9, and a waterdrop notch for the front-facing camera.
The square-shaped camera setup on the back includes 2 lenses and an LED flash. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side atop the power button.
The main chipset is the budget Snapdragon 480 SoC, which is one of the entry-level 5G-ready chipsets. This is paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. There is no mention of expandable storage as of yet.
On the software front, you get iQOO 1.0 based Android 11 OS.
The dual main camera setup includes a 13MP sensor and a 2MP depth sensor for the bokeh effect. This camera is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 and 60 FPS. The waterdrop notch front camera is an 8MP snapper.
The device has a 5,000 mAh battery on board with support for 18W fast charging through a USB C port.
The iQOO U3x 5G will be available for a starting price of $184 in Grey and Magic Blue color options.
