The Federal Government has decided to launch the Startup Pakistan program under the umbrella of Prime Minister Youth Affairs Program (PMYAP).
According to an official of PMYAP, National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and Higher Education Commission (HEC) will join hands to give technical training to the youth.
Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority will find the topmost business ventures in the local and international market.
“Aimed at uplifting the youth of the country, the program, will train youngsters in both conventional and high technical skills,” he said.
The government is planning to enroll one million students in different technical institutes, universities and Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority’s training centers.
He added that the students will be adjusted in various government sectors for internships, including Naya Pakistan Housing Project, Pakistan Tourism Board, and Ministry of Postal Services.
It should be noted that the incumbent government is making efforts to export human resources to other countries. Its efforts have yielded positive results as countries like Japan, Romania, Germany, and Qatar are interested in importing skilled-labor from Pakistan.
Besides, for the uplift of youth, the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) government has recently launch Qarz-e-Hasna and Assets Transfer schemes.
Under the Qarz-e-Hasna program, 80,000 soft loans are being disbursed every month among youngsters and women to support their startups and small business ideas.
