Vivo has finally launched the Vivo S5, the successor to Vivo S1, at an event in Beijing China. The smartphone would have been just another mid-ranger if it was not for the uniquely arranged camera sensors at the back. On top of the innovative design, the smartphone features some impressive under the hood specifications.
Let’s take a look at the details.
As mentioned, the smartphone comes with an innovative design. At the back, the quad-sensor camera is arranged in a unique diamond formation. It is available in three two-tone shades: Icelandic Blue, Phantom Blue, and Star Black.
At the front, the Vivo S5 features a 6.44-inch punch hole AMOLED display with a tall 20:9 aspect ratio, FHD+ (1080p) pixel resolution, 409 PPI pixel density, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Under the hood, Vivo S5 comes with the Snapdragon 712 SoC at the helm assisted by 8 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of onboard storage.
On the software front, it runs on Funtouch OS 9.2 flavored Android 9.0 Pie.
Camera-wise, the mid-ranger features a quad-sensor camera at the back with a 48 MP main sensor, 8 MP ultra-wide sensor, 5 MP depth sensor, and 2 MP macro unit.
For selfies, it is equipped with an impressive 32 MP lone shooter. Both the cameras, front and back, come with a posture correction feature and a super beauty algorithm.
Vivo S5 is powered by a 4100 mAh battery backed by 22.5W fast charging.
It will go on sale in China by 22 November at a $385 price tag. The onboard storage can be doubled for an extra $42.
